Sound Uke - Russ Hayes founder. Having been born and raised in Hawaii, I have grown up with the ukulele as part of my life. When I moved to the Northwest I was often disappointed in the type and quality of instrument that was readily available and wanted to make a higher quality uke available. I am trying to do this at all levels from an entry level instrument to a professional level ukulele.
I chose the motto "Where Quality Meets Value" in order to make clear that the ukuleles must be of high quality first then find the price point that makes it a true value.
We are focused on getting the customer to directly experience our ukuleles in person so they know how it looks and sounds before making a purchase. Though we could ship ukuleles and take orders over the internet, we would prefer not to spend excessive time and effort on shipping. If thats the only way "no problem" but I'd rather put it in your hands.
Russ Hayes grew up on Oahu, Hawaii. He attended college at USF and graduated with a business degree from College of Notre Dame Belmont. He is actively involved in the Hawaiian Community in the Pacific NW as well as a few different ukulele groups.
Ray Alonzo grew up on Lana'i and learned ukulele as a young man. After graduation he went into the military. Subsequently he has gone into business with his lovely wife Sandy and runs the popular Monday Ukulele Ohana and gives private lessons for the uke as Hoaloha i ka Ukulele. He can be found in the store most days and happily demos all the ukes and helps find the exact one for you.
